Soothe and Calm for Dogs

Folic acid was discovered between 1931 and 1943. The term "folic" is from the Latin word folium (which means leaf) because it was found in dark-green leafy vegetables. Folic acid is a B vitamin and is therefore water-soluble. Sources of Folic acid include green leafy vegetables, e.g kale, broccoli, and spinach. 

Magnesium is a chemical element that is produced in large, ageing stars. It is the fourth most common element on Earth. Magnesium was first isolated by Sir Humphry Davy in England in 1808. In its metal form it is extremely reactive. The element is related to Magnetite and Manganese. Recent research has found that magnesium may improve behavior in dogs.

This supplement contains B Vitamins 1, 3, 6, and 12. B vitamins are a class of water-soluble vitamins that play important roles within the body. They were first discovered around 1910-12 and were first synthesised in the 1920s. B vitamins are found in highest abundance in meat and eggs. However, other sources include whole grains, pulses, and some vegetables. The B-complex vitamins are involved as cofactors in many metabolic functions, especially energy metabolism and synthetic pathways.

Theanine is an amino acid primarily found in green tea. As early as the 9th Century, Chinese monks started consuming matcha, which contains high amounts of Theanine, in preparation for long hours of meditation, which required them to be calm and focused. One study suggests that Theanine could be effective for dogs with a sensitivity to storms, decreasing the severity of the dog's overall response.

Ginger, (also known by its botanical name Zingiber officinale) is a flowering plant that originated in Southeast Asia. Its root is considered to be among the healthiest spices on the planet. It was first cultivated by the Austronesian peoples. Ginger had religious significance among Austronesians, being used in rituals for healing and for asking protection from spirits. Recent studies showed that nanoparticles derived from edible ginger could be a natural aid for the intestine. It also has general antiemetic effects.

Soothe and Calm is a complementary pet food for dogs. This is not a treatment or medication. If your dog has symptoms or is unwell, seek veterinary advice immediately. Consult your veterinarian before use if your dog is under medical supervision. Not suitable for puppies under the age of 12 months. Not suitable for pregnant or lactating bitches.
