Why Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2-MK7?

Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2-MK7 collaborate in this cleverly formulated tablet to promote the effects of each other. The two ingredients work together to increase bone health and effectiveness.

Vitamin D3

This fat-soluble vitamin is stored in the body's fat cells. There are two forms of Vitamin D. Vitamin D2 and Vitamin D3. This product utilizes Vitamin D3, otherwise known as Cholecalciferol, the source that is obtained from the action of sunlight on the skin. Dietary sources of Vitamin D include fish such as salmon, tuna and mackerel, as well as egg yolks. Vitamin D contributes to the absorption and utilisation of both Calcium and Phosphorous to maintain healthy teeth and bones. Through maintaining the teeth and bones, the vitamin helps to reduce the risk of falling which is associated with postural instability and muscle weakness. Bone health in the older adult is particularly important as falling is a risk factor for bone fractures among those older than 60 years of age.

Vitamin K2-MK7

There are several forms of Vitamin K. This tablet contains Vitamin K2, otherwise known as Menaquinone, which can either have a long or short chain structure. Vitamin K2-MK7 has a long chain structure, produced by the conversion of Vitamin K1 by natural E. coli bacteria found in the colon. Vitamin K2 MK-7 naturally occurs in foods that photosynthesise or foods that consume photosynthesised items, such as broccoli, pork, seaweed and butter. The primary role of Vitamin K is to promote the natural process of blood clotting and maintain bone health. It has also been suggested that Vitamin K2-MK7 contributes to the production of new bone matter which can reduce pain caused by poor bone health.

We offer these tablets in a manageable 9mm tablet size. Please be aware that this product isn't suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Please note- we advise you to contact your health professional if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication before use. Certain medications may interact with Vitamin K2, including those for diabetes and anti-coagulants, and Vitamin K2 supplements should not be taken alongside these medications.

We recommend that both the 500 and 1,000 tablet options are more suitable for use by more than one person. This is to ensure that you are receiving full use of the product before its expiry date. For one person's use, we recommend the 120 or 240 tablet options.
