What is BCAA?
BCAA, or Branched Chain Amino Acids, is a complex made up of three essential amino acids: Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. Our formula uses a ratio of 2:1:1 to achieve maximum use of the product. All three amino acids contribute to 35% of your body's muscle protein. Our bodies don't synthesise them, hence why we rely on dietary intake and supplementation. BCAAs are naturally found in most protein powders and protein foods as they occur in whey, milk and soy proteins. Other foods containing BCAAs include beef, chicken, fish, eggs, chickpeas, lentils and brown rice.
Benefits of BCAA powder
We recommend taking a BCAA complex at times of low calorie intake, such as in times of dieting or intense weight training. During this time, the body’s metabolic energy profile shifts from utilising carbohydrates and fat stores to breaking down muscle. BCAAs help to preserve the glycogen stores within the muscle, which provides energy to fuel our muscles while exercising. In addition, BCAAs fuel skeletal muscle during training to maximise your workout.
Our BCAA powder
We provide our BCAA powder in a watermelon flavour, available for purchase in three product sizes: 25g, 500g and 1,000g. We recommend a serving size of 5g, taken a maximum of twice per day. Why not try adding our BCAA watermelon powder to a smoothie or shake for a nutritious boost?
