What is D-mannose?
D-mannose is a sugar that naturally occurs in many foods including cranberries, apples, oranges, and peaches. Although D-mannose is a sugar, our body doesn't handle it in the same way it would handle glucose. Where glucose, lactose, and other sugars are used for energy, D-mannose is not. The structure of D-mannose surpasses normal carbohydrate metabolism and the molecule is excreted in the urine where the benefits are reaped.
Benefits of D-mannose
The primary health benefit of D-mannose is due to its link to cranberry juice as the sugar subsides symptoms of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Researchers believe that D-mannose works to prevent pathogenic or bad bacteria from latching onto the urinary tract which causes an infection. Instead, the sugar attaches to the bacteria, making it easier to pass urine. D-mannose also enhances gut health.
Our D-mannose tablets
Our D-mannose tablets are fairly large at 18mm in diameter, weighing 900mg in a torpedo style tablet. Each tablet contains 750mg of D-mannose, offering a high strength dose. Oxford Vitality provides four quantity sizes to enable you to choose the best option to suit you.
Please note - we recommend that both the 500 and 1,000 tablet options are more suitable for use by more than one person. This is to ensure that you are receiving full use of the product before its expiry date. For one person's use, we recommend the 120 or 240 tablet options.
