In this formulation there is a combination of 4 beneficial components, these are Vitamin C, MSM, Chondroitin and Glucosamine.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin, which is also known as Ascorbic acid. Vitamin C has a rich history of curing scurvy in sailors of explorer ships. From 1490, when scurvy killed 60% of the sailors of an invading ship, to 1935 when scientists György and Haworth won the Nobel Prize for synthesizing the first vitamin, Ascorbic acid. Vitamin C has many important roles within the body, primarily its position in the production of collagen. Collagen is essential for joint health because it is a vital feature of cartilage. Cartilage is the flexible, protective layer that lies between two articulating bones at a joint, when this is worn away, movement of the joints can be very painful.

MSM

MSM is the abbreviation for Methyl-sulphonyl-methane, this is a natural source of Sulphur for the body, containing approximately 34% at its richest source. Sulphur is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body. Sulphur can be consumed naturally through eating eggs, onions, garlic, cabbage, kale, broccoli, cauliflower and fish. The role of MSM is to provide Sulphur to support glycosaminoglycan (GAGs) production and health. GAGs are highly viscous and so make a good component for synovial lubricating fluid. Loss of the GAGs at articulating joints is one of the leading causes for osteoarthritis.

Chondroitin

Thirdly, is Chondroitin, or otherwise known, chondroitin sulfate, a sulphated GAG. As previously mentioned above, GAGs are tasked with lubricating the joint. Chondroitin is sourced from the cartilage of cows and pigs.

Glucosamine

Lastly, is Glucosamine, made from the exoskeletons of shellfish. Its a naturally forming amino sugar. It is advised for consumption when a person is undergoing damage, repair of a joint, or putting their body under serious strain. Glucosamine is also responsible for the production of GAGs from a steady base foundation for the repair of damage.

Long-term relief for arthritic finger joints and steady progress

Having suffered for some years from a painfully arthritic and severely swollen little finger which was (and still is) locked solid, I started taking these tablets about four or five years ago. Within two weeks the pain started to subside. Now the swelling has subsided by at least 50% and the angry red inflammation is gone. The joints are beginning to return to a more normal state. The progress is measured in years, not months, but the steady improvement is real. One day in the forseeable future, with exercise, I think that I will be able to flex the joints again. Keep taking the pills...
