What is Collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, and it is made up of amino acids bound together. Relatively one third of the protein found in the body is collagen. It is the main constituent of bones, muscles, tendons and skin, and is also present in teeth and blood vessels. The word “collagen” originates from the Greek word “kólla,” which means glue.
The History of Collagen
The molecular structures of collagen were first discovered in the mid-1930s. This has led to subsequent decades of research on how collagen is formed within the body. Currently, more than 16 types of collagen have been identified. Type I collagen (used in this product) represents about 90% of collagen in the body.
Although collagen is naturally produced by the body, its production gradually declines with age. It has been suggested that an unhealthy diet, smoking and exposure to UV light can damage collagen or impair production in the body.

Shipping is via Royal Mail 1st Class We dispatch orders on weekdays up to 5 pm. Royal mail quote delivery times 1-2 days for 1st class and 2-3 days for 2nd class.
